Belt replacement

Recommended Posts

i just changed the belt on my truck. i am not sure if it is the same on your truck or not. but, basically just find a socket that fits on the tensioner, and use it to compress the tensioner down. this gives the belt plenty of slack to take it off.

when you put it back on, run the belt around all the pulleys excpet for the smooth pulley (on mine, all of the pulleys have ridges on the excpet for one). it is much easier to slide the belt over the smooth one.

it is a pretty easy job. it was the first belt i had changed and really took my time and it took only 30 minutes (including the ac belt and changing both tensioners!)

hope that helps...
