Drawbacks of having cats cut off

Hey guys,

I am wanting my truck to be a little louder and maybe a little more HP. I am thinking about cutting the cats off of it because I dont have emission testing here. Does anybody make 02 simulators for them? Also, with those I wont have a check engine light will I ? I need some input.

You will get way louder! so you will be putting yourself at risk for a wonderful state trooper ticket, but if you get O2 simulators your check engine light will not stay on.

Just get rid of the Chokemaster. Talk about a drawback!! I bet you will like it!! If you dont get O2 sims, you can always have a shop with the Unlimited version of Edit disable the O2 codes. You will make some more power without the cats. Not much but it will be more. Oh yea, get rid of the Chokemaster!

I would advise against getting rid of your cats unless you plan on some major power adder (ie supercharger, nos, etc.). Reason being you will loose your low end torque to gain some upper end horsepower. If you still insist on getting rid of them the people who make the o2 simms that you are looking for is casperelectronics and I bought mine from summitracing.

If you are looking for more power, have Westers reprogram your PCM; Lyndon can also take care of the absence of the cats with new the reprogramming.

Just buy some hi-flo universal carsound cats off ebay. That way tey're there, you still have a good amount of power, andit's somewhat louder
