One of my buddies stopped by for poker and his step dad came by to show me his new pickup. He bought a 2002 CC 2500HD Black Chrome Steps, but the small gas motor. He got to talking and said that they had an identical truck at the dealership that was red and I ought to take a look at it.

I called the dealer and they have one there. 2002 24,000 miles Red CC Nerf Bars Cloth Seat Every other option in it... Heated Mirrors, Compass Review, Heated Back Glass, Power Seats, etc. They want 24,999 for. It is a 2500HD.

So here is what I have now, 2001 Standard Cab D/A 2500 HD 33,000 miles, LS with some upgrades... Heated back glass, snow plow package, Compass Mirror, XM.

The main reason that I am thinking about it is I dont owe very much on my truck. Lets just say that my payment are 150.00 a month. Used DMX are priceless around here. He mentioned trading me straight out for it.

Will I hate the Gas Motor? I have a 35' Corn Pro 10K Trailer that I pull about 3 times a year that may gross 10,000 at the most. Will I regret getting that pickup? I know it is apples to oranges but give me some advice. If I keep the one I have I am not going to be buying a new one. I am not married right now, but I will be in October.

I would not do it. Just my opinion, but i think you would be dissapointed going from a DMAX to a 6.0L gas engine. Your talking about almost a 160ft/lb reduction in torque. Thats alot when towing a trailer like you have. If i was towing like that and i was going to trade-up for another vehicle it would only be an 8.1L big block, but even then its a 70ft/lb reduction, but you do gain 40hp with the big block. I would stick with what you have.
