I'm New and I have a Trans Question!

Hi, Glad to be here!

 

I hope some one has seen my problem before. All was well when I took the truck (99 Z-71) to get the trans flushed . After I left the shop that did the work the cooler line came off the radiator and pumped out 5 quarts of atf by the time I got it shut down!

 

The shop came fixed the line and filled it with fluid . I told them I was gonna take it to GM and have the trans pan dropped and checked and a new filter installed. (on them of course). They agreed and GM said every thing was fine.

 

With no prior issues the truck now shifts into OD and the Converter Locks and unlocks once everytime it goes into OD. This truck has 96,000 on it and has had no problems at all. This trans shifting issue bugs me.

 

I'm mechanical and have the ability to check some things out , I just don't know where to start! I would be greatful if someone could steer me in the right direction.

Have you ever changed the tranny oil before ?

No I don't think its ever been changed. The old fluid was just as clean as the new that was put in. Not discoloration of the old fluid.
