Diablosport Predator X

Recommended Posts

Just ordered this new tuner from Diablosport for my 2016 GMC Sierra. Anyone try this yet? Looking to turn off the AFM and tighten my transmission. Also says that I will get better gas mileage and more HP using the octane presets.

Will update after I get it and set things up.

Never used one of those as I do my own tuning with HP Tuners. But I have no doubts that it will drive different and or better with a tune but just don't expect the world from that tuner.

The gain in horsepower and fuel mileage is kinda snake oil in a way. Yeah there will be a small gain in power but it's not like you are going to see a lot, it's really just where the tuning can lessen the torque mngt and it will pick up a little mid range power that was just being held back before. Not likely that you will be any faster in the quarter mile run. And fuel mileage and so dependent on your right foot, don't get too excited there because you are also turning off the AFM/DoD that was there to give you fuel mileage.

I'm not really worried about the mileage, but I am a little psyched about a more responsive truck. Mine doesn't have modes, and I enjoy Sport Mode in our Acura, and would like my truck respond to the pedal, instead of the mushy stock feeling.

I’ve used them since they came out. Probably every brand. You can unlock more power with the 91 tune. Up the shift points and RPM to access more power. Lower TQ management to feel the shift. At least in your model year if that’s still available. I last did a 2014. Your truck will feel less restrained more eager at wide open throttle. I raised top speed so I could get there if needed to complete a pass. Some say your drive shaft can’t handle it. My KO2 tires never gave me a problem. But I didn’t live at the speed.  I didn’t abuse my trucks, I didn’t baby them either.

Good luck with your purchase. I bought the Hypertech Spectrum can-tune and I like it. Turned off the AFM, adjusted speedo for 22 inch wheels, turned on 91 octane tune, and messed with TQ converter management. Since I have the 8 speed I could not mess with the shift points or retune tranny. For $200+ change I paid for it over a year ago, I am very pleased with what it does.  I do wish I could get my transmission reprogrammed.  Not many RELIABLE tuners here in Iowa that I have found.

How do you like the Torque Management tune? Pretty sure I can turn it on or off, thinking about turning it off, I read it gives more response to the gas pedal.

On my truck a 2014 it was a percentage adjustment. I never got more than 50 percent. It gets pretty harsh.

I frankly don't really notice the difference with the TQ Management.  That's why I really want a "professional tuner" to really dive into the programming of the transmission. The 8 speeds are very lazy shifting, and down shifts take forever, or don't kick down into the lowest gear needed when passing.   My guess is that GM did this to the transmission to get the most MPGs out of the vehicle as possible?.?.
