Pandora not available in Apps settings 2024 Sierra

Recommended Posts

I'm not finding much recently on this subject so thought I would bring it up.  One of the features the sales rep at the dealership showed us is, asking Google Assistant to do tasks for you while driving.  If I ask Google to play a specific song it says, "You must have Pandora to do this, but here's a local radio station for you to listen too" and changes the radio setting.  If I look in the Apps section of the settings menu, Pandora is not in the list.  I chatted with someone on the GMC website, they said it shows Pandora is only listed as a option on radios with the code Info 3 and NGI, but my truck shows it has radio code IOK so it is not listed.  What is up with that, and is there a fix planned to correct it?  Not a huge issue, but if I'm paying for the data plan so assistant can do functions, I would like it to work.

I don't have an answer for you, but I have experienced some confusion over all of this for over a year.  I don't drive my 2024 much so each time I get in I have to figure it out again.  What I have learned is that there are 2 ways of interacting with the system.  One is using the truck system with your data plan, and the other is to use an independent system with your phone.  I have Android, so I use Android Auto.  With the truck system, I can't access all the apps I am accustomed to, like maybe Pandora.  In the menu I scroll over and select Android Auto which somewhat mirrors my phone onto the truck, giving me more apps that are not available in the truck system.
