If you look on your On star page for your truck it will show if its open even if you dont pay for a plan (I dont)

Follow the link if you get monthly e-mail reminders.

I thought of that after reading your previous message:

The completion date was the day before I picked it up. The other 'programs' (aux' battery wont charge for example) & recalls (tailgate may open) were completed by the dealer who initially had the truck.

EDIT: I had looked @ the 'Incomplete' tab, but hadn't thought to check 'Completed'.

My main battery was replaced some time ago and the aux battery update was also done this summer but I still have a main battery that will drop below 12.0V charge in 4 or 5 days of no use. The aux battery stays around 12.6

I am hoping this update corrects some of that. Not sure if it is relevant but the trucks is garaged in my all metal pole barn/faraday cage so it may be trying to connect with Marys mothership and it cant get through (read that with the highest level of sarcasm possible)

Don't worry, I have nothing good to say about her. And people thought Roger Smith was disliked...

Just on our news:

Does GM even build any cars? No mention of EVs 🤔

Its technically not a recall, GM calls it a customer satisfaction program N242435631. My understanding is that its a new program designed to improve communication between modules and correct a possible situation where the battery may be discharging during a failed update. ( I believe is similar to what happened on some of the Colorados) There wasnt any information about the number or build dates of the effected trucks. I believe this was a mid year change once the new program was written so not all 24's will need it.

Thanks 64BAwagon !

Today I got the email about the software update. I was planning on stopping @ the dealer on an unrelated matter, so will ask about this in relation to the 'completed' issue on the OnStar report.

Yes, the update had been completed before the sale. Service writer said that they had seen that in the past. Customer gets an email notification after the recall or campaign work had been done.

I took my 2022 Sierra in for unrelated service. They updated my software due to the recall. Radio started cutting off for 15 to 20 seconds and rebooting.  Control panel was slow in responding. Bluetooth calls dropped.  Things were out of sync.

So I took it back last week to have it repaired. Some improvements but more of the same. I took it back yesterday, they want to replace the radio at $1300.00. Hell no! My radio worked perfect. GM owes me a radio. If your system is running fine, don't do this update....

I just had my recall performed yesterday and they have since removed the radio reprogramming as of 10/25/2024 as a 5th revision to the recall. So far everything is going great. I noticed the speed of my Apple CarPlay connection greatly increase. I posted as a new topic as well in hopes to inform others when they still have android version 10 after their service.

I received my 2024 2500HD 6.6 gas in July of 2023 and I received the software update letter recently.  I took the truck into the dealer last week.  They also completed the replacement of the trailer brake controller, which was another letter I received.  I didn't notice anything different on my 25-mile drive home.  I specifically saw the volt gauge because I recently added a DC to DC charger to charge an auxiliary Lithium battery and I was keeping my eye on the volt meter.

Over the weekend I drove the truck again and noticed that the volt gauge had been replaced with a transmission temp gauge at the bottom right of the dash.  It is the second gauge over from the right, with the 4 gauges across the bottom.  I went through all the dash display options several times trying to find a volt gauge and found nothing.  I am using the classic layout with the "maximum" lower gauges option.  My assumption is that the software update wanted a more permanent transmission temp gauge and for some reason doesn't think the volt gauge is important anymore.  I would prefer to have one again.  Has anyone encountered this?

You sure you aren't in tow haul mode? At least on mine, the battery gauge goes away and it replaced with ATF temp while in tow mode.
