T1XX Trunnion Bushings

Recommended Posts

I know the K2XX pickups had issues w/ the lack of durability when it came to the bushing used on the tailgate trunnion. I replaced several over the years on my 2017. Has the problem been resolved w/ the current truck?

I think we've replaced one or two?  Way less common so far.

Does that control the damper function? If so, mine is not great. It doesn’t fall full speed but it’s much less dampened than when it was new. It falls fast enough to make a sound at the bottom now.

The bushing takes up the space between the hinge cups on the right hand hinge and is what keys the right side of the gate to the right hinge.  The right hinge is then splined into the damper behind the right tail light.

If you have the push button power release tailgate, you'd have the EZ down (damper) and the EZ up function (torsion bar).

Is that true on the HD models? Didn't think I had a EZ up on my 24 Denali 2500HD.

If #10 is the bushing, it looks similar to the K2XX part (#84331136)
