What the heck is the deal with AC Delco part numbers?  For the PF63 I’ve found 3 different part numbers.
My 2023 5.3 manual says to use GM part number 12707246.

I’ve found 2 other GM part numbers for a PF63. 12735811 and 12731742. See pics.

Yes.  Same filter, different p/n based on how they are packaged.  There is boxed, boxed bulk pack (case of 12) and then bulk pack unboxed (case of 12).  And there's also the chance of old stock under a previous p/n too but still the same PF63.

As for the "PF63", it was originally PF63 (before the eCore construction), then went to PF63E (eCore construction) and now all the eCores had the E dropped so back to PF63.

Regular PF63 are still the eCore construction but its the updated eCore, UPF63R the ACDelco Gold filter is still built the way the older Duraguard filters were pre eCore.  You can loose sleep reading about eCore on the Bob Is The Oil Guy forums, but plenty of them are put on cars day in and day out and they work just fine.  Sure, there are higher end filters out there but the regular AC Delco works just fine for 95% of the people out there.

Thanks for the info! I’ve done a lot of searching. Just read that the GM numbers mentioned have superseded to the 12735811. I tried inputting the numbers into a couple GM part sites. The sites I used listed 12735811 as the current and shows it replaces the others🤷

Forget to mention that newdude’s comments are also correct. While giving me confirmation on the latest P/N, the dealership parts guy also mentioned exactly what’s in new dude’s post. Dealers purchase in different quantities and different origins, which change the part numbers accordingly.
He also said P/N’s in the owners manuals are out dated before they are even printed! He went through the P/N history with me. My 2023 has had 2 revisions in filter numbers since my owners manual was printed. Of course some that change was due to Covid 19 supply chains.
