Radio Silence - No Sound?

Recommended Posts

Hi -

I have a '24 Denali Ultimate 2500 with 700mi.  The 2 of the last 5 times I've driven this week I've had no sound.  I have to put in "safe mode" to get it going.  The hold the mute button to reset doesn't restore sound, just resets.  Had to use safe mode again.

Are others seeing this?  I saw in another forum that someone had to have Bose amp replaced as it does more than just amplification.

Don't want to take to dealer to show me how to reset in safe mode or "can't replicate" without being armed with more knowledge.

Any thoughts?

Cheers, Bob!

PIT6101J: Intermittent No Audio

Equipped with RPO UQA, UQS

1. Verify the loss of audio the customer is experiencing.

1.1 No audio for the duration of the ignition cycle, but may return on the next key cycle and No turn signal “click clack”

If the customer experiences this concern, please replace the amplifier.

2. Verify radio software is up to date. If software is Y171 (IOK), or V171 (IOS, IOT, IOU) or lower please update the radio.

3. (IOK Only) If the customer is experiencing short cuts in audio primarily shortly after start up (usually the audio cut is no longer than a couple of seconds), but audio always returns, after installing radio software Y172, this is due to a software anomaly in the radio.

3.1 Do not replace the radio or amplifier for this condition. GM is aware of this concern and will update dealers with a service bulletin once a fix is released.

Thank you @newdude.  Looks like fresh recall (N242435631) hit 9/10 for my truck for it.  Getting it Monday.

I appreciate your help!

Bob

Recall is for battery drain.  Reprograms the serial data gateway and the radio.

"Certain model years and vehicle makes noted in the table above may have a condition where the battery is at risk for a drain following an over-the-air update."

Had recall done.  Actually showed up with radio sound not working even after several resets and safe mode.   Of course, when tech got to it, it was working.

I asked them to do the 24-NA-117 (superseded 100) and they said it was included in recall N242435631 I went in for anyway.

How can I check to see what radio version I have now after service to verify?
