Wires found under dash looking for no spark issue

Recommended Posts

So I bought this truck running and driving drove it for about a week and now no spark, I've replaced the distributor which came with a module the coil and wires. Coil refuses to spark checked the voltage on pink wire which was fine also for some reason when I plug my dash in the alternator smokes? I've replaced all main engine grounds so I'm at a loss, 1991 Chevy 5.7

Tbi would make sense why its smoking when the cluster is plugged in. Does the crimping/soldering come factory like this or is this some lovely wiring job someone did? They were wrapped in heat shrink.

I've replaced everything I could think of but my coil isn't getting spark i got power on the pink wire no power on the white to the tac truck turns over but thats about it, my injectors pulse my fuel pump powers on. I'm stumped on the alternator and dash problem as I can't find anything on the drivers side out of place.

Trailer brakes. Google the wiring diagram for the ignition system. I believe the ECM controls the coil from what I could see on my tiny notebook

It could definitely be my ecm but what gets me is it gets fuel but it does have a cel on for code 12 which just keeps flashing after the third orientation 12s so the system is working but it shouldn't be on and I read the ecm can throw random codes. It also did have a rough idle aswell I appreciate you Richard ill have to get another ECM and test it out.

the good thing is that it's plug and play, no programming. Is there a crankshaft sensor? I can't remember, getn old I guess. If there is check the wiring to it for a short
