Alignment Issues With Torsion Bar Cranking

Recommended Posts

I went into Les Schwab(big tire store in this part of the country) to get a price on their shocks. The guy asked if the truck was lifted and I told him I was going to add about 2" with new keys and torsion bar adjustment. He said that was bad because the truck would not stay in alignment. He was kind of a jerk and just kept telling me most lift kits come with shocks so I didn't ask him WHY it would not stay in alignment.

In all my research I haven't read about this problem. I know you have to get an alignment after the cranking. Any thoughts on this?

I changed keys about a year and 3 months ago. I had it aligned right after the change. Have not had the allignment done since, although I will in the next month or so, and the tires are wearing fine. Truck has settled about 1/2" though. I agree,

Ditto that. Moderate cranking will be fine, heck some claim to have cranked fully and show no problems. All you'll need afterwards is an alignment, and that should stay aligned fine if it's done right and you don't hit curbs and off-road hard a lot
