OEM Side mirrors

Recommended Posts

I have a 2016 Serria, 1500, base model, 2WD, 8’ bed. The side mirrors are cut at an angle on the bottom inside. This makes it a pain to use them to back up. My last GMC had square mirrors and backing up was not a problem.

With these OEM side mirrors, I can not see my rear tires.

Are there other model trucks I can get the mirrors from?

Thanks for any info, Bill

Possibly look into aftermarket tow mirrors in OEM style. I went with OEM toe mirrors only because I scored a brand new unused set at a bargain price. But these mirrors have a very large blind spot mirror on the bottom which I think you would appreciate. And the main mirrors are significantly larger.

I wasn't a fan of the OEM mirrors either for the reasons you mention. I have been in the habit of backing up using my mirror since driving large box trucks and armored cars back in late 80's and early 90's. On those, you had no choice but to use mirrors and it became a habit ever since. Honestly I don't even use the back up camera that much and may only give it a quick glance to make sure right behind me is clear...

I just saw in another thread of yours that you have a u pull it close by. Maybe see if you can get the tow mirrors there. But make sure to grab the wiring harnesses out of the doors to make the swap easier.
