JERKING WHILE ACCELERATING

Recommended Posts

Good morning every one. So i have a 2020 Gmc Sierra 1500 elevation crew cab 5.3. Every time i accelerate the truck jerks, i also got a random misfire but that went away, the check engine light has not come on since. The dealer did replace the throttle body and a coil when my lifters went out that might be the issue but I'm really not sure. Has anyone had the same issues? my truck has 94369 miles

Are you certain it is not your transmission?  I believe that one is under the class action lawsuit for jerking under acceleration (slipping).

it's an 8 speed. The dealer diagnosed it the transmission is bad, and the driver side engine mount is screwed. Honestly it doesn't make sense to me since the truck only has 94,700miles on it. I'm really hoping the extended warranty I bought thru CarMax will cover it. (Fidelity Warranty)

I have a 2019 GMC AT4. Last year, at 63000 miles, my right side lifters failed. Totally covered by my extended warranty (Zurich) the dealership ended up replacing both right and left side lifters, pistons, cam shaft, etc.

Previous to that, at 55000 miles, I was having the slipping from 1-2 and vibration at 53 mph and 1500 rpms. Dealer flushed/filled the transmission. Problem went away.

Transmission problem reappeared at 70000 miles only the vibration was at 45 mph instead of 53. I had the transmission and torque converter flushed, filter replaced, and filled with AMSOIL SIGNATURE SERIES ATF HP. This was 2 weeks ago, problem is solved.

The tech bulletin has the fix being Mobil 1 ATF HP.

I wonder how many people are running the Amsoil Signature ATF in their 8 speed.  Be interested to know if any problems occur after a couple of years.

My lifters also went out, they were replaced. Dealer ship diagnosed my truck, it was the transmission and a bad motor mount. Mi getting a renewed transmission 3yrs/36000-mile warranty whichever comes first, I'm also having the driver side motor mount replaced. good thing ill only be paying my deductible.
