Help a noob. What towing weight to start considering a transmission cooler?

Okay so the Transmission fluid is cooled by it circulating through the aux cooler in front of the radiator . When it is cooled it goes back to the transmission where it cools the transmission . Do I have it right ?

Not quite. The transmission fluid goes through two coolers in series. The first one is inside the engine coolant radiator, and the second is a finned tube air-oil cooler mounted across the front of the engine radiator.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. It's so much appreciated.

I will keep everything stock regarding this and just enjoy the ride. It appears that I might only use towing in the steep parts of the mountain ranges to keep the transmission from shifting as much and keep the rpms up a bit. This should help both up and down.

I pull my TT up the mountains in Arizona when it's 110+F. I'll drop the speed down to keep the RPMs between 3500 and 4000 and it seems happy there. I've seen trans temps hit 210F, which, historically, would scare me, but that's how these things are designed to run so I guess I'll just run it. I do plan on changing the fluid every 20k miles or so.
