2023 2500HD hood oil canning

just reaching out on a forum to see if anyone is having the same issue.  where the hood roles over to line up with the grille i am getting dimple popping in and have to draw them back out.  the dealer says this is not a defect and will not cover under warranty saying that it is from me pushing on it to close the hood and you can't do that, this is a Heavy Duty (HD) truck and pretty sad if they are making these this cheap now.  Looking here to see if any others having a similar problem.

The majority of vehicles have the same issue. Mine has a bug deflector on it so that helps.

I just let my hood drop from a foot up and gravity closes it. Never pushed it shut

I do all of my vehicles the same way.

 

This is available from GM and the picture was taken from the website. My truck is black so it blends well.

I came from the push to close era. The first hood I bent was my 1974 impala. Since then I slam them. Then push a little with my finger tips. To make sure it doesn’t pop back up. That’s the ocd kicking in.
