Whelp, that was that for "Smart Driver"

I take it the revelations that Lexus/Nexus was sending that data to insurance companies was a liability too great for GM to consider.  I received this email yesterday:

 

From GM:

 

Dear bwoodsmn,

We are reaching out to inform you that we are discontinuing the Smart Driver service on June 26, 2024.

As a result, you will no longer be able to access the Smart Driver features in your myChevrolet mobile app.

No other OnStar services are impacted by this change.

I don't think many owners use it. I know I don't. Also, Consumer Reports is running a campaign to have automakers stop selling "black box" info and smart driver info  to insurance companies.

Once people found out they were sharing the information. They stated opting out and turning it off. That creates a money losing situation for them so I'm betting that's why they dumped it.
