Wester's Programming Group Purchase!

Recommended Posts

We're going to be running a group purchase for the Wester's computer programming. 10 or more orders will be needed for a 20% savings. I'll be posting some more info for this in the next day or two. We just need to gear up for a heavy volume of programming orders :D

We have the 282 fans in stock but are waiting for some more scoops to come in. Check out the new Volant facia with scoop and lights that will be available soon! A picture of that is in the Truck Induction section of our website.

Here is some info to look over -

Wester's Performance tunes are now available with these basic choices.

1) 85 octane high altitude tune

2) Dual 87-91 Octane tune (will automatically adjusts for octane)

3) Dual 89-93 Octane tune (will automatically adjusts for octane)

(These dual octane tunes are recommended for all dual purpose (work/play) trucks.

4) 91 Octane HOT tune (much more aggressive than the Dual octane tune)

(Recommended for performance trucks where higher than 91 octane fuel isn’t available, like California.)

5) 93 Octane HOT tune (much more aggressive than the Dual octane tune) (Recommended for performance trucks. No, or very limited, heavy towing or hauling!)

Custom tunes to your specific requirements and desires.

The new 87/91 and 89/93 dual fuel tunes will be able to run with 87 or 89 octane in MOST conditions with good performance, or with 89, 91 or 93 when even more performance is wanted. The dual octane tunes are capable of tuning for a higher octane. The factory tune will only advance the timing to the limits set in the original spark tables. Changing between 87 or 89 octane and 91 or 93 is automatic, the tuning will adjust itself for the octane you are using by referencing another spark table.

Under MOST conditions, all the tunes will run fine with the octane programmed for, but altitude, towing, load, condition of the engine, temperature, poor fuel quality, oxygenated fuels, or sensor variations may require choosing a higher octane. Just be aware that under certain conditions a higher octane fuel may be required, and that more performance and sometimes better fuel mileage is available just by using higher octane.

Standard with all performance tunes

Complete reflash of the PCM to your VIN, with all factory updates.

Dyno developed performance tune optimized for your exact engine and transmission combination.

Raised and optimized shift points

Firm, but not harsh shifts

Elimination of all torque management that can be safely removed

Some of the more common modifications to ask for.

Raising the top speed limiter to any speed you specify

Specifying the exact shift points you want in every gear

Firmer (or softer) shifts.

Specific tuning for your modifications, like larger than stock tires, gear ratio change, aftermarket MAF sensor, supercharger, headers, cam change, engine modifications, etc.

The Guarantee

30 day free trial, you don’t like it, we’ll either modify it, or send it back and owe nothing!

Lifetime warranty (no cost or fees)

Lifetime updates for all future mods ($45 shipping and handling fee)

Lifetime full price paid credit toward your next custom tune for your next vehicle ($45 shipping and handling fee

thats sounds awesome, i will definately be a part of that. I assume he will take as much care in programming for the group purchase as he would for an individual. I cant wait to put my order in.. :D d**n, 20% is over $100 off for my chip, that is great news. I am somewhat torn here on what to order....i really dont tow anything but i may have to in the future, so i am not sure whether to go with the 93 octane (HOT) tune because he says its not a good choice for towing. Is the 93 octane tune gonna ping under WOT? What is it about the 93 tune thats not good with towing? Maybe i should get t 91 octane but i dont want to sacrifice the HP i would get from the 93 tune. I put about 100 miles a month on my truck, its really only used for vacation and leisure, maybe i will try the 93 and if it pings, i will get the 91. What do i do? Any suggestions?

Go for the 93 Linda, it won't ping. If it does Lyndon will reburn it so it doesn't. You can even ask him to tone it down just a hair so you have a little more cushion! I don't regret the 93 tune for a second! Of course you'll get the same quality programming whether it's a GB or not!

Tbyrne's not offering this for long so don't miss it!

okay, im definately in, what do i need to do? I guess he is gonna give some more info in a few days. Any suggestions on what i should do? I am going to go with the 93 tune i think.....but as far as torque Management, and the rest of the options i could use some suggestions, i want to get this baby right the first time.

Im thinking of...

90% TM reduction

remove top speed limiter

remove rev limit

what else?

Is there still an issue with the tow/haul mode? I heard some people were having problems shifting into O/D while in tow/haul mode with the westers chip. I just wanna have my facts together when it comes time. Is there any options for the allison trany yet? One more thing, if i am going to have to do some towing after i get my chip, with the 93 tune, would it help to drop some octane booster in the tank just in case? Thanks.

linda: Wester's puts 110% into each program that they put together. They did an excellent job with the programming for my 2002 HD. I use the "Hot tune" without any problems towing (usually either pull a 23' boat of 24' enclosed car hauler). Based on the amount that you use your truck and you don't do much (if any) towing I think the 93 version will be a good choice. The rev limiter is usually increased but not totally removed. It's rare that I run my truck at WOT through the gears. The increase in driveability is another big benefit of this upgrade. You can roll 1/2 way into the throttle and feel that the truck is much quicker than before. Full throttle makes it even better :D

I haven't heard of any problems with the tow/haul mode but I will looking into that for you.

chevyagogo9: This is a PCM swap. The reprogrammed one would be sent so you could do the swap and then send your stock one back to Westers.

This is now listed in the Group Purchase section of our website. Orders can be placed online or by calling 1-877-4-TBYRNE. We can either fax or e-mail the form to fill out so it can be sent in for your programming. The closing date for this GP is 2/20. I'll post all of the "fine print" tomorrow. That is pretty much all of the info listed at the top of the GP section of our site.

Thanks,

Tom

Here is some of the fine print to go along with the GP -

IMPORTANT INFO: Most products to fill each GP are ordered at the end of the GP. They usually take 1-2 weeks to ship from here, but some items could take longer based on the size of the group purchase and availability with the manufacturer. Depending on the product and our available stock, some orders will be shipped from here shortly after the GP comes to a close. Remember, you need to place your order if you are interested in taking part in a GP. Be sure to check the status of the GP that you are part of on it's closing date to see if is going through.

MORE IMPORTANT INFO: All credit cards are processed a few days before the GP closes to insure everything will go through without a problem and to lock in the order. Orders canceled after your GP order has been processed will be subject to a 10% processing fee. Orders for products that are non-stock items (not normally kept in stock) can not be canceled so be sure that you would like to be part of the GP before you place your order.

WHEN SHOULD YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER?: We find that alot of people wait for the required number of orders to be placed before they get in on the GP. If everyone does this the GP minimum is never met. If you would definitely like to join one of the group purchases that are listed it will be best to place your order as soon as possible. Your credit card won't be charged until just before the GP comes to a close (as long as there are enough orders) and the minimum will be met much sooner. This will allow you and the other participants to take advantage of the savings.

PCM cores - You will need to send your factory PCM into Wester's after you install the new computer. We will do a "core authorization" on your card to cover this computer until it is returned. The authorization won't be an actual charge, but it will hold the money for us in case the core isn't returned. The core amounts are -

Most computers up to 2002 - $175.

2003 - $350.

2004 - $450.

This authorization will be voided after your core is returned.

Orders can be placed online or by calling 1-877-4-TBYRNE.

linda: You should be fine with the 93 octane tune. This can be changed if you start to do alot of towing in the future.

thanks for the help....one more question....i was just told by your shop there would be a $35 shipping fee. I thought all orders included shipping in the price? My chip usually costs $595, a 20% discount is $475. After i add the $35, im back up to $510, which is only about a 14% discount. Please dont get me wrong i am not being ungreatful at all, just wondering if this was the case or not? Should i be paying for shipping, or did i misunderstand something? Thanks for all the help TBYRNE!

Yes, there is a shipping charge for the PCM. It usually ranges from $30. - $40. so we rounded that off to $35. for the GP. We already have 2 orders and quite a few more forms going out!

Thanks,

Tom
