Pryme Are those husky mud flaps a no drill application !

thank you

Yes they are no drill. I’ve had no issues with them. They use the stock screws and a couple very robust very tight fitting metal clips to attach. They aren’t going anywhere.

I’d apologize for the hijack but this thread is very nebulas so…

Has anyone got the factory $285 option for splash guards?

Capt Bob .    Nebulas , Id need to look that up as my lack of education prohibits me from knowing what that word means LOL !  We  have splash  guards  on our truck from the factory not sure if that's what your talking about if it is they are pretty much useless .I'm looking into mud flaps that extended beyond the Factory splash guards . Do you have a link to them  ?

Maybe look at the Photo Pryme posted on Page 3 of this thread . He has a type of splash guard that looks like ours and you can see he added longer flaps for added protection

Gm makes a slightly larger(and uglier) splash guard vs the stock ones but they are nowhere near as big as the huskys and cost nearly three times the price. Hard pass

I had the Husky’s on my 2018.

I’m looking for something a little less. Since semi-retiring, I don’t drive as much on the developing sites as before. The Husky’s worked well, better than the stock 1500 splash guards but I still got debris up in the rocker panels. South Georgia red clay gets everywhere.

Amazon has the Husky’s for $119. The Chevy’s are $60 a pair so $120. The $285 comes from the Dealer install.

They have them in stock at our Dale Earnhardt Chevy Dealer and I’m going to take a look at them before I purchase. Beauty as they say, is in the eye of the beholder.

See those are only marginally bigger than the stock ones. They mount up just like the stock ones as you can see, BCGM. These give like an inch more on the bottom and side but the look of that bump out is off in my opinion

Well, I bought them.

First, if I lived where you guys deal with snow, mud and all the crap that goes with it, I would gone back with the Husky’s. They worked well on my 2018 but here in North Fla./S Ga. rain is the big thing and again, I don’t use my truck like I used to (work wise). We’re getting ready to leave next week on a 4200 mile towing trip to the Great Lakes area. I’ll get a chance to see how well these “factory” things work.

They are 3” lower (measured) but that wouldn’t do a lot for what I mentioned above but they may reduce the street debris and they look factory so…

Time will tell.

I went with husky.
they mount under the stock ones so you can see how inadequate the stockers are compared to the husky’s.
the stock ones do nothing in winter where as these husky’s kept wayyy more slop off my doors and side steps and up under the rear bumper etc. super easy install and very secure.

My apoligies Pryme what year is your 2500 ? Did you manage to put those husky mud flaps on without drilling any holes ?

I just saw a You Tube video and the guy said he indeed had to drill holes to secure them and they were supposed to be no drill

Thank You !.

2022. They are no drill. If someone drilled to put these on they did it wrong. Most people should not work on their own vehicles

  • 2 months later...

Fell behind with things and am just going to have the first oil change done today on the truck at just over 2000 Klm

I checked the oil the day before and it has not used a drop of oil since driving it off the dealership lot .

I'm happy about that !

On another note with  2000 Klm on the truck do you think I could put my foot into the truck now and see how it preforms ?
