Have any of you fellas put  mud flaps on your 2500 ? If so what brand did you use RazorBack ?  Plastic or rubber ? I'm thinking that the factory splash guards are not going to give a whole lot of protection on the lower body panels ?

I went with husky.
they mount under the stock ones so you can see how inadequate the stockers are compared to the husky’s.
the stock ones do nothing in winter where as these husky’s kept wayyy more slop off my doors and side steps and up under the rear bumper etc. super easy install and very secure.

I know there's more than a few threads I have going on since I joined up on here so my apologies if its a bit too much !

We are really enjoying the truck so far and it has OnStar  and Sirius Radio .

Sure a lot of room in the engine bay if you are going to do your own work,  WOW !

Very. You just click the add files button below the post window where you type your message and choose photos from your phone

Sorry for being a pain  in the arse but as mentioned I'm  tech challenged . I tired to download pictures from my i Phone but when I go to do that the site says the file is too large . How do I correct that  ? Really would like to get some pics up .

I am very tech illiterate also but all that I do is click add file which brings up a window with a few options and I click photo library and I just choose the pic I want from the library. Just do one at a time. If you try to add multiple it will usually end up too big. Oddly if you go back and edit the post it will usually allow more pics.

but for ease of use just do one at a time

#1  What do you find is the best fuel for your 6.6 Gas ? I just put fuel in ours for the fist time Chevron 87 octane with 10% Ethanol

#2  When I get the first oil change and I plan to get it done early because of break in did you stick with regular oil or go with Synthetic ?

Thank you

How have you fellas been breaking in your new ride . Do you drive it at reasonable speeds ? Vary your speeds ? Do you take it up to above freeway speeds ? I have been driving ours  from  low city speeds 30 MPH and up to 60 MPH but have not gone above 60 MPH . I have not done any sudden stops, all have been coast up to and gradual applying the brakes at traffic stops .  What do you recommend ?

The truck requires a Dexos1 Gen3 oil, by virtue of the spec it will be "synthetic"  Did you get a free first oil change from the dealer ? I would use that although I do my own since I have trust issues with my dealer. My 2018 Silverado 1500 was a lease and I took it to the dealer for the first oil change. A couple of weeks later I was under it and noticed they hadnt changed the oil filter, they just wiped it clean when they did the oil change.

I use a "top tier" fuel as much as possible and I only buy Costco, Marathon or Mobil around here and I limit it to one of those 3 stations. The truck is designed for E10 so thats the flavor it likes best. Not sure what the options are in BC as far as metric gas. LOL

As far as how you drive the truck for break in, I believe as long as youre not beating on it your fine. Trust me when I say that a few people drove your truck before you got it and none of them were babying it.

The owners manual states proper break in concerning max RPM's, braking, etc. I followed that and had my oil/filter changed at 1100 miles at the dealer, I get the first 6 free.
