Weight distribution hitch

I have a 2024 Silverado HD. I will have to transfer the same hitch from my 1500 to the 2500. How much drop or rise is needed?

My guess is 2-3 inches.  I doubt you need a weight distributing hitch on your new truck.  Remember the hitch diameter is 2.5 inches so use an adapter or get a new adjustable hitch.

I went from a 2015 2500 to a 2024 2500 and had to drop 2" on the hitch. Don't know how high your 1500 was, but I'm guessing you'll need at least 2".

I think when I had my 2500 I had a 4" drop on my WD hitch if I remember correctly.  You will need to get a tape measure, level the trailer and back the truck up and take a measurement.

Took me 3 tries to realize an adjustable hitch was the way to go.
