Not just pre-drills. It's a complete crossmember under the bed between the frame rails and a 7 pin plug in the bed. If you ever plan to do a 5er or gooseneck, it is worth it to order that up front.

gooseneck is an option on all 2500/3500 trucks, probably find more 3500s that do have them ordered from dealers though.....well worth it if you need one

Z71 is whatever.....on 1500s you get 4 lo with it, but on HD they all have 4 lo but getting 4WD auto is nice to have on HD and is an option on LT and below.....

also the power folding mirrors with rear aux lights is nice....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it also comes with the spray in bed liner for the price.

I honestly don't know if a bed liner is an option otherwise.

Multiple ways the factory spray liner is optioned.  Its a standalone option on HD trucks (rpo code CGN), it is part of the Z71 Off Road and Protection package, it is part of the Z6A Gooseneck package, and its often included in the "edition" packages so Alaskan, Z71 Sport, Z71 Chrome and Midnight all include CGN spray bed liner.  The spray liner is standard equipment on ZR2 and High Country.

Thank You fellas for the above replies !  Okay is the Gooseneck package also including in  the Fifth wheel package ? As I think 5th wheel and Gooseneck are  two different types of hitches ,am I correct ??

Let me say when you are comparing trucks that are on dealership lots there's a whole lot of options  to compare , as even the Customs have added options

Z6A gooseneck/5th wheel package includes the spray on bed liner, factory installed gooseneck/5th wheel hitch, in bed trailer plug and plastic covers for the holes to cover the hitch mounts when not in use.

The factory hitch is a puck style hitch.  It has 4 mounting holes to accommodate a 5th wheel hitch, and it has one hole in the center for a gooseneck ball to mount.  GM makes a factory ball and chain cleat kit for the puck system, and Curt and other manufacturers make either direct fit 5th wheel hitches, or replacement sides for an existing hitch or adapters for hitches that use rails.

Thanks so much for the details New Dude ! I'm not quite understanding the Goose Neck / 5th Wheel package . So if you get this option with the truck, the holes are drilled and plastic caps to fit the holes . The actual  hitch underneath the truck box  is attached to the cross member and then you attach the Gooseneck or 5th wheel to the hitch ?

What purpose do the marker lamps on the cab roof play ? Is that a potential water leak situation ?

Thanks

The factory drills 5 holes in the bed floor.  As far as the hitch goes, when the frame is assembled they install a factory engineered hitch setup to the frame.  Its basically a hidden rail setup that uses 4 90 degree lock holes for 5th wheel and one big hole in the center that a gooseneck ball locks into.

And here's a thread on someone here installing the 15-19 factory setup on a truck that didn't come with it:

At this point I'm surprised they aren't mandated because of how wide these trucks are (just over 80 inches not counting the mirrors).  Cab roof markers are required actually on vehicles over 80" wide to notate that they are a wide vehicle.   So duallies will all come with them no matter what for example but on the single rear wheel trucks, its not required.  It can be seen as a looks thing if you will.

As far as leaks, eh.  Factory installed they usually hold up pretty good.  Its when you try an install them on a truck that didn't come with them is where leaks seem the most common.

I’ve seen threads about them leaking especially on the fords. They are for looks they do nothing. I’m glad I don’t have them.

Not having roof markers is a contribution to the delinquency of an HD. Kinda like the baby mirrors. 😉
