New '24 Silverado 1500 WT CC owner - USB ports question

Recommended Posts

I will try. They were imported as Apple lossless files.  I copied a few songs to a new flash drive 3.0 but there

was no choice of export option.  They just copied as regular files.  i dragged the song to the flash drive and

it copied to the drive.  The song plays fine on other computers.

Thanks

Marc

That option is not available on my Itunes. My computer (MAC) is too old to even update so maybe that is the

reason. I did delete an imported CD and then reinstalled it as a MP3 instead of Apple Lossless and then copied

it to a flash drive and guess what it worked. So i guess the USB has to have at least MP3 files.  Do you think the people

at GM would state this in the manual.  It's only a few lines of type. And GM itself was no help when i called.

Perhaps they need smarter people working for them.

Thanks to all who helped me. Much appreciated.

Apple Music is the iTunes replacement on Mac. I have the latest, and the steps I linked you to work there.

Not trying to play music off a flashdrive but I am trying to use USB to play music. I am also not able to play music and it says “No USB Device Connected”. Has anyone found a fix for this?

Whatever you are attempting to connect via USB must be recognized as a "removable drive".  Plug the device into a computer - if it doesn't show up as a removable drive there, it isn't going to work in the truck.

Its doesn't matter what you do, GM has ALL USB and Apple Play devices shutdown while in motion. I have tried several different USB sticks with different formats, same issue. If you have apple play working, your cannot scroll through your music unless 1 you are stopped or 2 the vehicle is in park. Once moving, you can scroll a few tracks only...

I have a 2023 S Class, and a Model X Tesla that handle USB/Music and apple play flawlessly....it's not your audio hardware, it's the truck.
