What is your battery voltage before you turn on the truck?

I'm wondering if my battery is holding its charge. I check the battery voltage before starting the truck and its around 11.8. Is that normal or is the battery suppose to hold its charge at 13-14 volts?

At 11.8 volts your battery's state of charge is only at about 30%.  A fully charged battery will be in the 12.7 volt range.

Depends on outside temp. but your battery is not going to hold a charge (12 volts & double it for 24 Volts or twin batteries) unless it's above 12.3 Volts and a fully charged battery should be 72 degs C is around 13.4 Volts. Also depending on connectors, so start at battery towards fuse box and alternator connectors check everywhere and belts to make sure connecters are tight & adding some die electric grease helps also.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the battery.  I've had issues with AC Delco batteries over the years.  Your battery has a warranty, too.  I recommend using it now, or forking out a couple hundred to get a better battery from some place else.

Battery could use a charge perhaps.  If you took it in, dealer will hook up the GR8 or DCBS battery testers to it and it will either pass it as good or needs a charge, or it will fail it and needs replacement.

Does it crank up fine, no weak starting or not starting at all?

You can watch battery voltage on GM's diagnostics GDS2 and key on engine off lots of vehicles brand new or a few years old will show a system voltage of 11.8-12.6v.

I picked up my new 2023 LTZ in August and in less than a month I was back at the dealer having the battery replaced. I was having some issues with starting and fail to restart after auto shut off and several warning messages. New battery fix all of them.

I just had auto zone check the battery and thy said battery is goo but need a charge was showing 35 % , I dont understand how can that be, the alternator should charge the battery , why is my battery only 35 % ?

this is crazy .....

Honestly?  Because everything is mostly $hit made the last 5-7 years.  We've had vehicles brand new off the carrier within a week with a dead battery.  But on the other hand I've had cores come in that were dated from 2010 that were original in the car still.
