Crank no start

I’m having intermittent crank no starts. Sometimes truck doesn’t start for days. Something is also draining batteries. I do notice a thumping noise when truck is turned off.

Hey, did you take a look for any loose parts or a starter motor on the fritz?

The battery drain thing might be connected too. You could try a parasitic draw test to figure out where it's coming from. If you're up for it, could you spill some more details about your truck – like the make and model?

Same…crank, no start…intermittently. After sitting overnight truck then starts. Dealer says they’ve heard of this issue but to their knowledge there is no fix. Awesome.

I think I have it too. Dropped the truck off at the dealership yesterday after experiencing the crank-no-start problem for a 2nd time in 2 weeks. They won't even look at it till April 22nd. Haven't had battery draining issues though.

Just happened to me tonight. Tough sight watching a truck with 3k on it be towed away. I was getting errors pop up as it tried to crank. Should be interesting what the dealer says.

Got my truck back. They referred to Bulletin 20-NA-218. Had to reprogram the Engine Control Module. They thought something might have been automatically downloaded that caused it, but I don't even have an OnStar antenna.
