Bose system UPGRADE done !

Recommended Posts

2023 Sierra 1500 Elevation with Bose Premium system.  First, I'd like to thank all the people that have upgraded their systems, I've learned lots!

- Replaced rear speakers with JL Audio C1-650x coax

- Replaced front door speakers with JL Audio 690tx tr-ax speakers (Crutchfield says "does not fit", but it does.  Not sure if front door speakers are full range or not, but I had the speakers already, so I installed them

- Dash speakers are Pioneer TS-A709.  They work perfect, just cut off the high-pass filters.  You will still hear the phone, signals, etc.

- Still, no base, so I installed a Diamond Audio DPAS10   powered 10 inch subwoofer.   The wires to connect to are the blue/grey (left pos) and the Green/Black (left neg) wires, easily accessible on rear passenger side under the door sill .  I installed the Bass Control knob on the dash beside the upfitter switches previously installed.  Sub fits in the factory option under seat storage, held down with 4 strips of industrial velcro.  I  will be drilling some holes in the factory storage lid so the "lid rattle" is no longer a problem.  Photo below shows the sub install - room on passenger side and some room on driver's side for storage

- I'm still using the factory Bose amp and may replace it in the future, but the set-up so far ROCKS!

You mentioned "still no bass" But was it any better than before w/o the sub? I use my underseat a lot and dont want to lose the room. UPS dropped off dash and door speakers Friday though. Same dash, then Kenwoods for doors.

Stereo had to be turned up a bit to give the same volume level as original Bose speakers.   Yes, Bass was better, but still very weak.  I wanted the 10" powered sub to go under the passenger seat - I wasn't sure about hiw the rear heating du ts would affect the subwoofer.   How are you dealing with that?

Im a non-bose,  so then it should be noticably better for me im thinking. As far as the sub i was thinking about if one could fit into the lower storage hole underneath the middle jump seat on the customs. I dont believe you have that option though with the GMC.

You should be ok.  My Elevation has the center console with the factory Bose speaker between the two bucket seats

You don't want to tap the rear doors. There's no good audio there. That what shops have been going for years, but they don't really know what theyre doing. You should look up these guys www.t-harness.com. I used then for my 21 Silverado. I barely have to move my volume and get really good bass.
