Question
Mike Judd
I've read lots of posts on the inexplicable dead battery on Canyons and Colorados but what's the latest?
12/29/2023
2021 gmc canyon , dead battery after leaving in airport garage for 10 days.
Observations:
No lights , no crank , key fob inoperable
Jump started with parking garage battery pack.
Upon connecting jump pack to battery , anti theft activated. Deactivated with key fob.
Truck cranked and started within a few seconds of connecting jump pack.
The truck radio time and all presets all still stored in memory. If battery were completely dead, one would think time and presets would need to be reset.
Jumped and drove the truck for 2 hours home from the airport. (It was 1am.)
- is there an anti theft that disables the entire truck if hacked ?
- older vehicles would require connecting a dead battery to a power source for several minutes before sufficient power was stored to crank the engine. Mine was connected for literally a few seconds and cranked/started immediately
