Silverado 4500-5500-6500 are they still being produced? Would have sold better as GMCs as well

The Silverado 4500-5500-6500 look great, but I don't see many of them, have they made a dent in the Ford F-350/450/550 market, which after 2020,  the Ford Super Duty seems the same as F-150 with a different trim.      The 4500-5500-6500 maybe would have sold better as GMCs as well., as GMC had a big presence in the medium and heavy truck

market back in the day 1920 through 2009 with the last of the GMC Topkicks.    Proud owner of a 1955 GMC long-wheelbase stepside V-8 with GM Truck Hydramatic.

I think that was the 'old' GMC brand before it became 'Professional Grade'. My father's 2 pickups, '75 & '79s were GMCs as was my '82. The only difference back then was the grille as they looked better than the Chevy 'egg crate'. Since '95 my pick ups have all been Chevs.

MD sightings are few & far between in southern Ontario. I see the International versions on the roads here & the Navistar dealer in Peterborough Ont', usually has 1 or 2 on their lot.

I spent a few days in New England earlier this month & saw 3.

I'm sure Mary Barracuda & the rest of the braintrust running GM (or is it gm?) wouldn't know where the Jimmy term came from. *Oh it was a GMC SUV...*

For some reason Chevy does not market the Silverado Medium Duty in Canada, the truck is only available there as an International CV.  In the U.S. the decision was made some time ago that Chevy would be the primarly commercial truck brand aside from a few Sierra Pro and Savanna cargo/cutaway fleet sales.  No idea why but the Penske dually cutaway vans are always GMC branded.

From what I see, the Silverado Medium Duty has become common in California.  Nonetheless I am a little confused that GM and Navistar has basically done nothing to these trucks since their introduction in 2018.  There were rumors of a gasoline engine, 22.5" wheel/tires, and air brakes would be added as options, all of which I think would increase sales.  There was also rumors that GM and Navistar were to collaborate on a class 7 truck, but it would seem that GM decided on the Isuzu FTR based Chevy LCF 6500/7500 for their class 7 offering.

The Isuzu forward control models are fairly common in Canada, as is the Hino brand with both forward and conventional cabs.
