Start with the plugs and wires, it's not often that you have to replace the coils.

Only go with OEM parts from known sources, ebay could be selling cheap knock off parts with the same name.

Thanks Cam, I did plugs, wires, and all new lifters/top end gaskets. Truck has 190k on the original coils. I figure theres not much else that would cause the truck to breakup under load than a weak coil.

I purchased AC Delco plugs for my 2008 Silverado. Within 6 monthes the truck started running terrible with multiple warning lights on the dash. Turned out to be failed spark plugs. Thats when I learned they were cheap knock offs. The plugs and the boxes looked ligit till you google and learn the very small differences in the plugs and boxes. I'll never buy plugs from Ebay again. It is a lot of work for only 6 monthes of use.

You are very correct that eBay sells a lot of counterfeit sparkplugs and sometimes hard to tell the difference. Same with Amazon too unfortunately. I did buy a set of NGK sparkplugs for my daughters Honda Pilot on Amazon last year and after getting them, they appeared suspect. I contacted a rep at NGK and verified they were legit and have worked fine for her ever since.  I replaced mine with AC Delco OEM ones for my 16 Silverado last year. I just bought them at O'Reilly's for same reason and lucked out as AC Delco was offering a rebate as well as O'Reillys so the end price was way cheaper than I could have gotten them anywhere else.
