2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Low-Fuel Indicator

New to this forum. I just bought used 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The fuel gauge is almost down to Empty but there is no light indicator yet. I have read previous older posts and it looks like the Low Fuel light indicator should go on when my GMC has approx 2-3 gallons of fuel left. Just wanting to wait until the Low Fuel indicator goes on before refueling, but don't want to run out of gas and get stranded.
