Exit lighting not working

Recommended Posts

if you set it to a different time will it turn on at all then? I know when I first played with the setting on my 2023 it had a few times when it would totally ignore what I set it to and just stay dark when I exited the truck. It does need to have a full ignition cycle and then have you grab the door to get out and the lights should kick on.

i don't think it will bypass it but do you have the dome override button turned on for your inside lights by chance? Are you somewhere really bright that the ambient light sensor thinks it's too bright out to force the headlights/taillights from turning on to light your path? Also, do you have the headlights set in automatic mode and not to off or manual mode when you get out? It must be in automatic mode for it to work.

Try this: get in the truck and place the ignition in service mode by NOT pressing your brake and hold the start/stop button for like 15-20 seconds until everything lights up like you normally experience when starting the engine. Leave it in this mode for a minute or two and then press the start/stop to turn the ignition off. Grab your door handle and get out, the radio should fully shut down. shut the door and see if your lights light up then when it's dark out.

Thanks for all the great ideas.  You found the problem!  I always open the door before I shut the truck off.  Have to shut it off then open the door to get it to work.  Thanks again!
