Service Trailer Brake System

Noticed this message at startup and now every time I turn on the vehicle even with not trailer connected, this message pops up. Also the trailer brakes no longer work. Even using the manual level the trailer brakes do not engage. I have a "basic" scan tool and attached a picture of the DTC code. Something that may or may not be related is it also showed a DTC code for a short in the license plate light. Somehow BOTH light are blown. Very odd for a 2020. After searching the global database (google.com) I have decided to replace the "trailer brake power control module". My question to those reading this is am I headed in the right direction? and does this module require any programming??? Thanks in advance.
