Compass, Roadsigns & Navi Issues

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a 2021 Sierra Denali that intermittently has issues with the compass, road signs, Navi and GMC App not working. It went completely out about 12 months into ownership with the GPS red crossed out circle, after multiple trips to the dealership they fixed it replacing the GPS module.  It worked okay for about 8 months and now it intermittently stops working, I get the CAL for the compass, road signs are blank, Nav freezes on the last location, no App connection.  Onstar can not connect to the vehicle and has asked me to take it to the dealership.

I am tired of the dealership hassle, thinking it might be the shark fin antenna.  Anyone have similar issues and what it took to fix it?

Thanks...

Thanks 64BAwagon, my research has shown this to be a common issue on the '14 to '18 models. Curious to hear if anyone has experienced the same issue on the '19 and up trucks?  It is acting like what I think would happened if the antenna connection had corrosion issues and worked some of the time.

Well they are still having all the same issues in my 2024. I have even had the motor die 4 times and yes the auto off was turned off. Also have a relay clicking sound between the defrost ports and infotainment head unit. Been dealing with these issues starting with 3 miles on the truck.
