2024 Sierra HD AT4 Running board LED lights

Try looking at the front side of the LEDs. Mine had a bunch of road grime and water in it. Looks like it may have shorted out. At the dealership now. I will see what they say but probably going to have to replace the LED strip

Mine are exactly the same. On the drivers side I can see water and corrosion on the light strip terminals.  It seems like a defect common on trucks build around the fall to end of 2023. I'm curious if anyone has this on an older or newer built truck.

Well, a little update here. the driver's side on my truck stopped working about 3 weeks ago. I haven't taken it to the dealer as I will be getting them to correct a few other issues at the first oil change (right turn signal doesn't shut off and the upper glove box doesn't open).

I did get a call yesterday from the dealership about a recall regarding exterior auto lighting. Don't know if this will be the fix or is it just a poorly placed socket that is getting wet and shorting out.

Well I just hung up the phone with the parts manager at the dealership.

He returned the running board lights last month because the service department didn't schedule the appointment and put it on the truck.

I had called service several times but they kept saying they were waiting for the part.

He reordered it today and will call me when it arrives so I can let the service department know...

Well the running board lights came in (again), the parts manager called me and I was able to set an appointment for yesterday Mar 13.

The light is working again.

It was a long frustrating process but at least it works now.

The invoice shows:

84825839 LAMP

Good Luck to those of you that are still waiting for the part and solution.

I have a 2024 3500 Ultimate, and the passenger side had every 4th led out for about 3 months. I had the truck in to a dealership for starting / battery issues and they wanted me to leave the truck for the week for them to “diagnose” the issue. I just walked around to the passenger side yesterday and noticed the entire strip wasn’t working. I’m going up on an oil change so I guess I better plan on not having it back for a week.

I find this and other threads about this topic on other sites interesting as, for the most part, seems to affect the drivers side. My drivers side is out and when I look at the LED strip, it is full of water. Obviously a piss-poor design.20240314_170335.thumb.jpg.0a56fe660b8b107c39bbc3bbafd06c3f.jpg20240314_170332.thumb.jpg.dead1b5890faf1714d9ba9a62c2ae932.jpg

I recently had my passenger side lights stop working, although the running board still worked correctly. I found that the plug in to the retracting motor wasn't snapped in tight from the factory as I only have 2,300 miles. I plugged it in tightly, then the lights worked but board acted dead. After about a half hour of messing around, I finally disconnected the negative battery post as I figured the BCM probably needed to be reset. I then took it for about a 4 mile drive and when I returned home, everything works as they should. I think a lot of these gremlins are related to the BCM's, as several people are having the tailgate buttons acting up, some have even had the switch replaced 3 times while others haven't had a single issue.

Hello fellow GMC Owners,

Brand new 2024 AT4 - 714 Km as of this morning. A cold day -1c today. Driver side running board lights don't come one. Passenger side works with no issue.

Running boards retract and deploy with no issues.

Seems to be a common theme, I will wait till it warms up to crawl underneath and see if any of these issues are similar.
