Oil Leak 2023 3500

Recommended Posts

I have a 2023 GMC 3500 with Duramax.  It has developed an oil leak.  I received it in early Feb and it has 3900 miles.  The GM service center has diagnosed it to the rear main seal leaking.  The parts are available they say.  My concern is WHY.  If they fix it will it reoccur??  What is your opinion on this?  Can I push for a new truck?  If so; how?  Thanks for your advice

Leaks happen.  Early on with low miles its probably an assembly issue so alignment of something could have been off.

Known possible leak points per GM bulletin - 18-NA-150 1..5 (nhtsa.gov)

Have them fix it, once its fixed, drive the wheels off of it.  No need to push for a new truck over something that can be fixed easily.
