Transmission issues on 2023 Sierra w/10 speed transmission

Well it happened again....

As stated above, I dropped my truck off at the service dept. last Saturday, June 15th. I got a call Monday, June 24th that they repaired two wires that had shorts and updated the TCM. It drove great Yesterday and then today on my way to work it had the same hard shift, followed by every dash light coming on, and reduced power mode. Had to restart the truck 3 times to get the reduced power mode to clear and continue driving into work. Same codes P0700, P2826, 2824, and P1098. I am over this! Every time it is 'repaired' it lasts 2 days!

 

So this will be my 7th trip back to the dealership, 4th for the exact same issue. When will GM offer a buy back on the $60K truck?

If you have a 10 speed Allison they are having a lot of issues with the valve body and they are working on an upgrade which is not available yet.

This forum section is the 10L90 in the 1500's, not the 10L1000 in the HD's

Yes my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country 4x4 5.3l with 10 spd on 22” wheels from factory vibrates and I started letting them know day one!

My 23 Denali 5.3 10spd doing the same ****** in drive. Acts up right before cylinder deactivation at low rpm and around 30- 35mph. If I start in L9 it seems to shift smooth as silk.

Totally agree with this GM is a corrupt company with NO moral compass and is happy to take bail out after bailout from the taxpayers and continue to SCREW us without even using 0-20w for lube.

We really wanted the Escalade V and are finally in a position to go that far but man that is Rolling the dice with these clowns.

We have a  2024 2500 Sierra that we bought off of the lot.  It is a basic work truck with the 6.6L  gas engine. It has 8000 miles and is currently in the shop needing a valve body for the transmission. It has been in the shop 3 weeks and the part is on backorder.  GM is unable to give information on when the part will be available.  At first it was between 7/31 to 8/13.  The dealer now says 8/14 to 8/26.  The customer service people are nice but have no authority and will not let you speak to upper management. I use the vehicle to tow and the dealer does not have a 2500 loaner.  GMC will not authorize the cost to rent an equivalent vehicle.  They would only state that their policy would reimburse me less than 50% of the cost and I could send them the bill for further consideration.   We have averaged 11.5 - 12 mpg in the city. Highway was 13.5 - 15 mpg.  Towing is another story. On a recent trip to pick up a pontoon boat in Florida we averaged 5.7 mpg at 65 miles per hour.  It tows reasonably well for a gas engine.  The boat and trailer combined weight was around 7800 lbs.  If you are considering using the truck for towing be aware that we have had problems with the trailer brake controller.  Under normal driving conditions, the truck will randomly display "Trailer wiring fault".  During this time that will last from 3 to 60 seconds the trailer has no brakes.  Recently with an 11,000 gross weight trailer and load, we were pushed through a red light with the antilock brakes chattering so bad that I thought that the truck was going to shake apart. GM has stated that they do not have a problem with the controller but if you search the internet you will find many articles regarding this. A dealership checked the controller and said that it was OK. I forwarded a few posts from the internet to my service advisor. A few days later when I called to check on the transmission part, he stated that they checked the controller and found a fault and that they were going to replace it.

Your 24 HD does not have the transmission the others are talking about.

So my truck drove well since my last post. After my post on 6/26 I drove it to the dealer and the removed the 2 primary connections that were shorted. Not sure why they didnt do this after installing the secondary connectors that bypassed the primary?

 

But it drove well until yesterday and got the P1098 (cooling fan running full blast) and P1498. Back to the dealer....

 

Not sure if this is completely unrelated or not. I did occasionally get the P1098 code amongst many others while dealing with me previous issues.

I am at 23,000 on my 2023 Sierra (3500).  I got a little rumble.  The car said "Reduced Power" .  I was pulling a travel trailer.  I had to park the trailer at an RV Park and get a tow to GM in Cransbrook, BC.  They said it was the Transmission Control.  They had to order.  They have no date for me for when it will come.  Meanwhile, my truck sits in BC while I live 4 hours away.

I'm waiting over 4 months with truck at dealership for the valvebody issue. No end in sight.

I bought this super expensive 2023 1500 sierra and i'm having this high frequency vibrations at low speeds. only for me i experience it between 50 - 100 kph. I have taken it back to the dealership 4 times and the following is what they told me. 

- that its normal - AFM / DFM in the engine is whats causing it.  (how can it be normal, when there so many of us here complaining about the same thing)

-that its not producing a code to troubleshoot the problem. 

-they cannot find anyting wrong with it. 

 

i am a first time GMC sierra 1500 owner. Got the vehicle in 2023. was looking forward to it for a long time. this vibration experience on the vehicle with no resolution in site shattered my respect for GMC. All the response from GMC i see here is "Sorry this happened. Give us your VIN # and dealership and we ll investigate further" one year later and they have not come up with a solution. this is humiliating and a disgrace. now i am stuck with this expensive uncomfortable hunk of metal.
