Adding Steering Column Lock

I was just wondering what parts might be needed to add it.

This part (plus having the wiring harness plug for it) and the programming done.

Thanks! Where would I find the harness.

I am guessing that you would have to already have it as a part of your current harness.  Plugging something into the vehicle, when it has not idea what it is, is probably not a good idea.  If there is a plug in/around that area of the steering column, then you may be able to get it working.

Would it be possible to add a steering column lock to a 2023 Silverado 1500 that wasn't built with it because of the chip shortage? What parts might be needed if it could be added? Thanks!

It can't be done.  There is no retrofit path for this.

The column lock module requires programming to the vehicle as would the BCM.  GM won't be able to flash these to add the option in, the truck is built as designed per the shortage.

If you really gotta have it, get a Club or trade in on a truck with the electric column lock.

I just looked at the steering column and it appears to have the module and it is plugged in.

I don't think we are communicating here. Did you read or pay any attention to what newdude posted on here? Read it again and learn.

Didn't see his post. Makes sense though. Only reason I am asking about this is because my dealer said it is possible to retrofit.
