2023 Silverado Custom.  When I plug my android phone into the truck with a USB cord, the phone connects briefly, starts to charge, disconnects, reconnects, and so on.  I've changed cords and USB plugs on the truck.  No difference.  Phone and cords work perfectly fine in other vehicles.  

Any thoughts on why?  Thank you in advance.

What Android version and how old is your phone? I had issues with my previous phone running Android 8. When I got a new phone running Android 10, the issues went away.

Did you get this solved? I've found that Android Auto updates independently on your vehicle and your phone, and they don't always play nice together. You could try checking for updates on the truck, check for updates on your phone, and even try and force-update some of the internal apps in the phone.

 

Also - what happens if you DON'T plug in the phone? It should be able to connect to the truck wirelessly for AA. If you just aren't getting anywhere, try deleting the phone from the truck and powering the truck off. Get out, lock the door, etc. Then deleted the truck from your phone (be sure you delete the correct one if you have multiple myChevrolet profiles) and restart the phone. Re-pair the phone to the truck, but do it wirelessly and ensure that everything comes up as it should.

 

You can try checking the settings within the Android Auto app (not easy to find how to launch this on some phones) to ensure it's set to Start Automatically if you want it to launch when it connects.

Believe it or not the USB cable you use can impact this.  I see you have changed USB cables already but have you used a high quality USB cable?  There is a difference.  

 

I had to find the right cable before mine started behaving correctly and then over time due to flex of cable I believe pin wiring broke and it started to act up.  Replaced cable and it was fine again.

Good call... Cable quality does matter for things like this that require a fair amount of data to be transferred continuously. I would be interested in knowing if the problem goes away using wireless, too, as that might also help troubleshoot it being a cable issue.
