Rear brake wear bar snapped

Has anyone else encountered a rear brake wear bar breaking cutting into the rotor?  I only have 30k on my 2019 sierra and the brakes still have plenty of like left to them. Since the wear bar broke it cut into the rotor thus needing a new rotor. These are the original brakes on the truck. Has anyone else encountered this ?
