RPM's moving around when riding on the interstate. What is going on?

I had the same symptom and also a subtle stuttering when coming to a stop. The dealership fixed the issue by flushing the transmission and filling it with the correct fluid.

I hope this helps.

Is it my Torque converter?

Keep in mind that the converter locks and unlocks as the AFM operates. The converter will also unlock before a downshift on a hill that may not lead to a down shift. Do you have the six speed or eight speed? How many miles? Ever do a fluid change? Filter?
