2024 2500HD LTZ front end swap to LT

Recommended Posts

I know guys were switching the 2020-23 front ends from ltz and high countrys to the lower trims but i have not yet seen the new front end being converted. I have a 2024 Silverado 2500 LT coming that should be here in a week or so. Only took a year lol. I grabbed the harness from Gen5DIY. I got the part numbers listed below from my dealer as no part listings are online yet. I just am not sure on the grill my dealer gave me numbers for. I’m not sure if that comes with the chrome bars on it or not. It seems unusually cheap to have all the parts on it. They are also charging a core for the headlights when you order.

85620357 grille. $481

85615608 front fascia $530 ( comes primed ready for paint )

86514718 headlamp $1319

86514717 headlamp $1319

listed incase anyone else is interested in the parts. Looking the numbers up online cheaper prices do come up than my dealer gave me. I will probably be going that route once I can confirm the grill. I will check with dealer tomorrow to verify the grill.

Appreciate the info. I've been mulling over led bulbs or doing the complete led headlamp/fascia swap on my 24 LT.

Did you guys do this swap yet? I have a '24 chevy hd custom I'd like to swap over to the LTZ and up front grill, lights, and fascia. Just wondering if anyone has done it yet and how it all worked out.

I ordered the headlights off of eBay for $900 a piece then ordered the fascia and grill from dealer both for under $1K. Waiting on the order from dealer due to parts being on backorder. Bought the conversion harness for headlights from GEN5DIY for around $400. Harness came in and I plugged the headlights in to make sure they work properly. They do no work on automatic you have to manually turn lights on. Both low and high beams work properly but only one led strip works. I have tried troubleshooting and led strip works properly when only one headlight is plugged in but when I plug both headlights in the led strip of one turns off. I don’t know if it’s a coding issue or harness issue. I’m going to attempt calling GEN5DIY to figure out if it’s the harnesses.

J1Walls, just in case you didn't check, but make sure the LED drl's aren't only coming on when the truck is in drive.  I swapped to the oem led housings on my 22' Custom and that's what mine does with the Gen5 harness.  I believe the trucks that have the led headlights from factory led drl's come on with the truck running, however mine has to actually be in gear before they turn on.  Just a thought.

J1 Walls thanks for the info. Do the headlights, grill, and Fascia all swap directly over? You should do a YouTube video of you swap. I can't find where anyone has done one yet.

I might be missing something but not sure why someone would pay more for an LTZ or HC then spend more money to change the front end to an LT. Why not spend less and get an LT in the first place?

Read the OP post again.  He has an LT and is swapping over to the LTZ face to get the new LED headlights they use, not LTZ down to LT face.
