Removal of panell to access OnStar connection

Recommended Posts

the should have instructions on their site for removing the overhead panel. You will need plastic trim removal tool to pop off the two curved plastic pieces to access t5 star head screws. Then use the trim tool to pop it loose from the roof.

Having done their P&P harnesses on a few vehicles, the hardest part is disconnecting the OEM harness connections, especially if you have bigger hands. Don't be afraid to use channel lock pliers if you need help depressing the connection release, just be careful.

Thank you again for your helpful directions

i got the two moldings off and the two star head upper screws out   The upper portion is free but the bottom portion above the on star button will not release. Is there a release clip somewhere that I am missing?

thanks

john

There are 4 screws, the 2 down by the onstar buttons are recessed.
