2021 Silverado 1500 loud noise from driver side rear wheel

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have been dealing with a loud squealing noise from the driver side rear wheel on my truck since it had roughly 2k miles on it. It only makes the noise after the truck has sat for a few hours and then goes away after a hundred feet or so of driving.  I unfortunately haven’t had much help from the dealership, other than them tightening up the leaf spring U-Bolts. Any help would be appreciated

My last 4 Chevy's have the morning back up squeak when turning around in the driveway. It comes and goes also. The pickup has not started doing it yet though. Nature of the beast and not just only Silverado's.

any chance you have a sprinkler that may get the brake rotor wet? or the prevailing direction of the morning dew wetting the rotor? Could be a small amount of surface corrosion that clears up as the pads wear it away. I know with my camaro and its large brake components any time the rotor got wet and sat for a few hours I had to power through the initial stuck brakes and the surface rust wore off pretty quick.
