White Lettering

Recommended Posts

I use Wesley's Bleche White (or I think that's the spelling). At any rate if Simple Green works well I'm sure that's a better choice as far as chemicals, will have to try it myself.

After cleaning them I use a spray on tire dressing other then the wipe on that I use for the car to keep the letters from getting dirty right off the bat.

I use Wesley's Bleche White

That's what I use ... even on blackwalls.

Count one more for Wesley's. That stuff is great. Really gets the grim off. I even use it on tires with no white letters or white walls. And for $3.50 a bottle, its easy on the pocketbook.

alot of cleaners will work, the important part is a scrubby brush... or even a wire brush even (detailer's trick) the thing with the whitewall cleaners, esp. westley's is they remove the very top layer of white rubber, exposing the fresh underneath... thus the importance of the scrubby brush. (there is a whole layer of white rubber under the outer black skin of the tire, thus the reason if someone checks a curb repetedly, the white shows thru where the black skin was removed) As for keeping the wheels clean, if you live where there are gravel/dirty rods, stay AWAY AWAY AWAY from tire shine products i.e. the clear stuff... its silicone... attracts dirt like a magnet!.... either use armoral or meguiars endurance tire gel... not nearly as sticky... the endurance last a long time, longer than armoral.
