Aftermarket gooseneck hitch

Recommended Posts

My truck (24 silverado 2500) did not come with the gooseneck prep.  I wanted to buy the oem hitch assy, because i already have the ball and chain tether kit but can not find it.  Only seen one from curt and B&W.  Both have pop up chain tethers.  Anyone have experience with these?  Which is the better one?  Anyone want to buy my ball / tether kit as i cant use it?

My dad has the Curt in his 21’ 2500hd and he has a b&w in his work truck. I have the factory system in my truck. Both the Curt and the B&w gooseneck hitches have similar operation. The Curt has a circular base on the ball with two pins to secure it. The b&w has a squared base with a single pin  to secure it. The B&w puts the ball closer to the factory position just slightly rear of the axle. The curt is slightly forward. Both are quality systems. The Curt has heavier chain tethers (if that matters to you). The B&w is made in the USA. I don’t think that you could go wrong with either.

Thank you.  I think i would rather do the b&w to gain some clearance to the cab.
