Dash Cam Install on my 2022 Silverado LTD

Recommended Posts

Wanted to share my installation video for a Blackvue DR900X-2ch Plus dash cam system on my 2022 Silverado LTD. I have been a Blackvue dash cam user for several years, and I have one installed on my other truck (2019 GMC Canyon) and it has been very reliable. Finally decided to put one in my work truck.

The installation is fairly straight forward, running all the wiring is pretty easy, all the panels I opened up along the C-pillar, passenger rear door sill, passenger front door sill and passenger fuse panel cover are very easy to remove by hand, no special tools required. Bringing the wiring up to the rear view mirror is a little tricky and requires loosening a bolt on the passenger a-pillar grab handle, but then its a piece of cake.

I opted to hard wire my cameras so that I can utilize the parking mode. The Blackvue comes with the hardwired harness, and you need to utilize a constant 12v fuse and a switched 12v fuse. I spent some time with a multi-meter identifying fuses beforehand. I ended up using F3 for constant power and F20 for switched power. Works great.

Anyways, enough talk. Here is my installation video, hope you find it educational. Thanks for watching in advance!

Hey, can you describe or link an article on how to open the c pillar? You said just pull the weather stripping out and the trim follows? @fondupot

When you pull out the weather stripping, there's a gap between the body metal and the plastic trim panel. You can then reach in, grab the trim panel and pop it out of the clips. It's really easy.
