khjenki
Purchased 2019 LTZ Z71 new and remains stock. Been having same metal on metal clunking noise on turns at low speeds since 25/30k miles. Now at 63k. Dealer has looked at this popping issue multiple times under warranty and afterwards to no avail. Even paid for the tech’s time after warranty expired to be told they can’t find anything. Asst Svc Mgr rode along and heard noise. Techs can never replicate noise and always say suspension is good. Retorquing helps for a few days but then the pop returns on slow speed turns with a quick jerk of the wheel or when transitioning in/out of dips or from one pavement type to another. Speed bumps don’t seem to reproduce the noise but the dips do whether wheel is turned or straight. Can also replicate by quickly turning wheel left/right at low speeds. Clunk appears to be coming from beneath driver side. Usually will pop twice…once on the quick turn of the wheel and again on the correction when attempting to straighten. Hoping it’s not the steering rack and is something simple like sway bar bushings/brackets or end links. Shocks/Struts have gotten sloppy and am about to have dealer replace with Billsteins or Eibachs. Hopefully they can find the culprit of the pop while tearing down. Any thoughts?
