Heads Up for 2019-2022 "LTD" Owners!

Recommended Posts

Got a dead battery?  Do you also use an auto start/stop eliminator?  If so, might be time to remove it.

#PIT6031: Battery Draw / Dead Battery / Approximately 250 mA Draw / F45DR F49DR Fuses - (Jun 12, 2023)

2019-2022 (RPO J21 aka "LTD") Silverado and Sierra

Condition

Some customers may comment on a no crank concern due to the battery being discharged. When performing a parasitic draw test, technicians may find that there will be an approximate 250 mA draw present.  When the BCM fuses F45DR and F49DR are removed, the draw will be eliminated.

Cause

The cause of this concern could be an aftermarket "Autostop Eliminator" device that has been installed inline with the auto start/stop switch (S171L or S171R), example below.

Correction

To correct this concern, remove the aftermarket device.

Warranty Information

Any repairs are not covered under warranty due to the cause being an aftermarket device. Please use bulletin 09-00-89-016G: Warranty Administration – Labor Operation 0600014 – Suspected Tampering or Vehicle Modifications

Thats why in the shop manual diagnosis section is '' are there any aftermarket accessories installed'' up front in initial diagnosis.

Anything that links into the CAN system can cause a problem.

Thanks for the post......good information, I was looking at those but didn't care to rip my '23 dash apart just to install it.

They have ones that go in the diagnostic port, but don't make it for the newer models.

Damn Engine start/stop garbage......  🙄

My '23 has the off button so no need for a disabler. My '20 Traverse has a Range disabler in it as no AS off button. No issues in it with the Range in 30k miles now with it on a Y splitter with a V1 adapter.

Same here I just hit the button on the truck but when we had the 19 Traverse I just put it low and manual shift up to the highest gear of 9 and the auto stop didn't engage. Does the same thing.
