Truck heats up over 210

Recommended Posts

Most cars today have the ecm show the temperature steady on the gauge but as tge ecm would show the fluctuations that the actual temp runs strictly to keep owners from running back to the dealer to fix. Even bmws are like this. So as mentioned above, you need to run an app on your phone to see actual temps.

Also, I am assuming you have the 5.3L motor and the  6L80 six speed transmission? You didn't mention either in original post. If you have the 8 speed trans, I don't believe that transmission thermostat applies.

Yeah I've got the 6l80 and 5.3. I actually found out I did have an issue. I found a puddle on the passenger side. Took it to the dealer and turns out the driver side seal for the rad is trashed. Dealer is declining to replace it even with pictures with timestamps showing that the same day it drove off it was having issues. Apperently there 3 month warranty only covers powertrain, What I get for not having the extended warranty 🤪. They told me they'll see what they can do and if they missed it and let me know tomorrow. All I'm hearing is I'm gonna be doing this myself.
