2020 3.0 Duramax Front Crank Oil Seal Leak

2020 3.0 Duramax with 31000 miles.  Anyone had a problem with the front oil seal leaking?  Was the repair successful?

Local dealer repaired under warranty.  Got it in time just before the 3/36 expired.

3.0 has a 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. 

 

Bumper to bumper is the same as the gas trucks

Currently in process of replaceing front crank seal on my 2020 LM2. 160,000km.. been leaking for about 10,000 km now.

Its a little lengthy repair due to the inability to access front crank seal with todays compact design.

Seal is not actualy leaking, rather the metal seal/assembly cover plate.

No gasket is specified from dealer, the seal/gasket is red RTV high temp silicone bead to form gasket.

GM has been using silicone instead of gaskets more now. It is causing oil leaks per my son, a mechanic.

GM uses p/n 19369831 which is ThreeBond 1217H RTV which is a gray silicone high temp.

My 2021 AT4 with the 3.0 has developed this leak at 50K. Is this covered under power train warranty? Thanks.

Took to the dealer and they fixed under warranty. Only took 4 days and I also had the transmission serviced while they had it. Worked out great.

Got a quote from the dealer to replace the front seal for $2800 on my 17 Diesel canyon. Does this sound reasonable?
